Livingston County, MI is located in Southeast Michigan and home to more than 180,000 people. It offers convenient access to Detroit, Lansing, Ann Arbor and Flint metropolitan areas and is experiencing significant growth, specifically in the service and industrial economic sectors. To ensure continued economic development, Livingston County recently set out to deploy a community-owned fiber optic network that would sustain the County and its citizens for decades. In 2022, Livingston County, MI selected eX² to design and build a 120-mile middle-mile fiber optic network with additional micro-conduit capacity to support future last-mile Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) service providers.
With the network nearing completion, eX² is pre-marketing the availability of dark fiber to those wishing to expand their services to the region. The duct and dark fiber infrastructure will provide the middle-mile data transport to connect to homes, businesses, community anchor institutions and more.
